Automotive Engineering Services (AES) is a bouquet of highly specialized services to meet the challenges of quality, cost and delivery risks at each stage of the supply chain. Pioneered and introduced in 2004 as containment services, today TÜV SÜD South Asia’s AES division has grown into a full service provider as an outsourced extended Supplier Development and Quality support service.
Automotive Containment Services (ACS): Product inspection / verification action at the supplier’s premises at various stages of manufacturing or final delivery stage. It contains / prevents defective products being supplied to the customers and involves Functional, Noise, Appearance, Dimensional, Physical and metallurgical checks. Defect data gathering and communication for quick remedial actions and long term actions are done, resulting in rapid gains in defect elimination thus leading to return part per million (Rppm) reduction.
Pro-Active Containment Services (PAC): Involves provision of services for application of early product containment during pilot run and advanced pilot run phases of new product. Covers root cause analysis support, corrective action verification FMEA, control plan updating, compliance verification and monitoring support.
Layout Inspections: Conducted during initial sample development phase and periodically thereafter, (on and off site). It involves random sample selection from the offer sample and/or lot and verification of product to establish extent of conformity to design .
Pre Despatch Quality Audits: Third party product audit services based on scientifically selected, statistically significant Sampling Inspection techniques based on pre-agreed Product Quality Audit Plan or control plan. Pre-Despatch Inspection is performed on the parts to be shipped to the customer and a report is released at the end of each shipment verification
Supplier Assessment Audits: Capability and capacity assessment audits are aimed at providing detailed information to the customer on supplier’s management processes, product realization, mass production preparedness, design/ process change control, purchasing, production control & their integration with support processes and document / record keeping practices. The service is aimed at providing decision support tools to the customer for making the right choice.
Process Qualification Audits: This provides and assures reliable data of process performance to the supplier’s customer. Process auditors are usually qualified IATF registered Lead auditors and Six Sigma Black belt certified professionals.
