Mumbai, 28 May 2014: The International Requirements Engineering Board, Germany (IREB) today announced that it has authorised TÜV SÜD South Asia to conduct the internationally acclaimed – CPRE (Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering) Examinations. Under the authorisation, Examination Institute of TÜV SÜD South Asia’s Academy will conduct examinations in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia, Singapore, Philippines and the Middle East Region. The IREB is a non-profit organisation that has developed the CPRE (Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering) certification scheme.
“With the exponentially growing software dependence of businesses, the outcomes expected from most programs are increasingly getting complex. It is therefore critical to identify requirements at the onset and Requirements Engineering (RE) helps engineers effectively define the same. It not only helps them minimise risk of failure post development, but also takes into consideration every aspect of client requirements. The authorisation by IREB is a testimony of the global expertise of our Academy Division and we look forward to conducting the examinations in the regions allocated to us”, said Mr. Mario Rodrigues, Senior Vice President - Management Systems Business Division, Academy Division and Certification Division, TÜV SÜD South Asia.
The Academy Division of TÜV SÜD was founded in 2008 in India with an aim to provide specialised technical training and learning solutions. Academy Division also set up an Examination Institute in 2009 that administers the professional examinations and qualification in various sectors. Courses at the academy range from one day introduction courses to large scale learning events that reach out to a wide array of sectors like Automobiles, Engineering, Information technology, Textile, Food, Construction, oil & gas to name a few.
Requirements engineering (RE) refers to the process of formulating, documenting and maintaining software requirements and to the subfield of Software Engineering concerned with this process.
