Secretary General, Quality Council of India (QCI)
Mr. B. Venkataraman is the Secretary General of the Quality Council of India (QCI). Having been associated with a number of professional bodies, he is also a member of the technical committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), corresponding to ISO TC 207 and ISO TC 176.
Mr. Venkataraman’s educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Technology (Chemical Engineering) degree from the prestigious IIT institute in Chennai.
His involvement in various international organizations for conformity assessment has earned him several management positions over the past few years. He is an active member of the Executive Committee of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), and also the Chairman of the IAF Development Support Committee. In addition, Mr. Venkataraman is a member of ISO 176, as well as the working group, set up to revise the ISO 9001 standard.
From being appointed Vice Chairman of the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) to being a member of the UNFCCC JI Accreditation Panel (Climate Change), Mr. Venkataraman, in his career spanning over 35 years, has witnessed and been a part of the phenomenal growth trajectory, comprising standardization, conformity assessment and accreditation.
